The conceptual foundation of this installation is rooted in the structural elegance of folded paper, translating delicate geometries into a dynamic architectural form. Conceived as a continuous, flowing plane, the structure’s prominent timber-slatted shell swoops and bends to create a sweeping enclosure. This singular gesture seamlessly transitions from a solid vertical backdrop into a dramatic, angled canopy, mimicking a single sheet of material manipulated to define spatial boundaries. The fluid lines and grand arched cutouts soften the linearity of the wood, inviting visitors to experience a seamless interaction between solid architectural forms and open, permeable voids.
As this architectural “fold” cascades through the footprint, it naturally delineates distinct functional zones without the need for traditional, restrictive walls. The strategic manipulation of the descending roofline and interior archways organically carves the open plan into intimate room sections—ranging from a sleek, dark-toned coffee bar to an inviting, textured lounge area. By playing with spatial compression and expansion beneath the folded canopy, the installation gently guides pedestrian flow while maintaining a unified, highly adaptable visual language throughout the space.
